Richard Dixon was born in the wilds of metropolitan Minneapolis, Minnesota.  Like most boys his age, he was both young and male.

At the age of 4 he was abandoned by his parents at a local mall and raised by security guards.  After working his way through the grunt jobs at Cinnabon and into upper management at the Great American Cookie Company, he discovered radio.  It wasn’t hard…it was sitting right there on a shelf in the back room.

Upon turning it on, he realized he’d lived a very sheltered life and really needed to get out more.  Working short stints of five to 10 minutes everywhere from California to Oklahoma, Richard landed at WZRR in Birmingham, Alabama.  There they told him something that made him stand up and walk out.

That something?  “You’re fired!”

He walked all the way down the hall to WAPI where he began the most interesting afternoon radio show on the planet.  After a brief respite, and another visit through rock radio mornings, he’s thrilled to be back in what can only be called the best job in radio.

Tune in weekday afternoons from 2 to 6 on 100 WAPI for Richard Dixon, the Most Dangerous Man in Radio.
